Our story
As developers with deep experience in e-commerce and Swedish business systems, we saw the same problem with customer after customer: manual order entry in Fortnox, broken WooCommerce integrations, and expensive Shopify plans without Swedish accounting support.
We decided to build the tool we ourselves were missing — a modern, open e-commerce platform with Fortnox and Visma built in from the start. Not as an add-on. Not as a plugin. As a core feature.
Today, Butikmotor offers a complete platform built on Medusa and Directus, hosted in Sweden, with zero transaction fees and full data ownership.
